Beavertail Lighthouse

Saturday, we decided to drive down to Jamestown, RI to see the Beavertail Lighthouse. Beavertail is one of the oldest lighthouses in America, and is still in operation today. It was built in 1749. It's not the prettiest or grandest of lighthouses, but the history behind the lighthouse is pretty amazing!
We were able to go to the top of the light house. It was pretty foggy, so we couldn't see as far out like on a clear day, but it was still a pretty view.
Then we went and sat on the rocks down by the water and enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch. It's still surreal to me that we live in Rhode Island! I love smell of ocean air! I don't think I will ever tire of it!
Then the fog started to roll in, so we decided it was probably time to go. Good day!
