We started by taking a stroll through all of the local vendors at the event. Then we happened to find ourselves at the cooking demonstration tent being hosted by none other than Johnson and Wales students and Chef. We stopped in to see what they were cooking. Once we discovered duck was on the menu, we decided to stay for the entire production so that we could sample the duck (neither of us have had duck before). By the way, I will totally eat duck again, it was amazing!
Then it was time to sample all of the tasty food. First we tried a stuffed quahog (pronounced co-hog). It's basically a clam shell stuffed with a clam stuffing. They are really good. You have to try it to believe it!

And finally the creme-de-la-creme of the food. A fresh donut from Great Cape Baking Company. Holy Cow!!!! It was an apple cider donut, and was fabulous! I can't even begin to describe how incredible it was. It was fresh and hot and so tasty!
After all the food we decided to see what the celebration was really about. We went down to the cranberry bogs. So cool! It was amazing to see the cranberries ready for harvest.
Last but not least, we went to an owl show. I love owls! We had great seats to observe all of the great owl action. I will now leave you with a few photos of a few of the owls.
every time you post about food it makes me hungry, and want to visit you just to try food...and of course to have a good time! Glad you guys are having fun!!! Great pictures of the cranberry harvest!
