It's Finally Here!

Adam can now begin to bake us all the things we have been dreaming of for so long! He finally has stated his labs! For his first class he is taking "chocolates and confections". Sounds good, eh? He also had his "knife kit" bestowed upon him today. It's got all sorts of crazy gadgetry! Here's to a good beginning, and a successful future! Yeah Adam!

The Little Tree that Could

As most of you know, we're a little ghetto. So Christmas consists of a 4 foot tree, with tree ornaments I rescued from a DI box. Talk about your classy tree. All that aside, it's looking pretty festive around our house!
In case you were wondering, we did put the tree on top of 2 Rubbermaid containers.

This One's for You. . .Mom

Shout out to my mother! Hey! Just thought you'd be proud to know that my house is becoming more and more grown up everyday. For the proof, check out the photo of my new window treatments in the bedroom.
Not only are they nicer then what was in there before, they also block out light and sound, making it much easier to sleep in on the weekends!

P.S. for all of you interior designers (Kristina) and wanna be interior designers, don't make fun of me because they are too short. It's the best I can do, at least for now.

Holy Whale!

If you love whales, raise your hand. You should all be raising your hands. Whales are amazing! I have a not so secret love for the whale species. This leads us to a very fun and exciting adventure to the New Bedford National Whaling Museum.Thank you New Bedford for dedicating an entire museum to this fabulous creature! Really, it's because New Bedford was a whaling town back in the day.
This whale skeleton was found on the beach in New Bedford. Random fact, whale bones are made of oil, so this large skeleton has been dripping oil since 2001, and is predicted to continue dripping oil well into 2060s. They have a little mechanism set up to catch the oil run off from the whale skeleton. Crazy, right?

I love when life hands you little surprises. We just happened to be in New Beford on the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the New Bedford Whaling Museum. There was a party and birthday cake, and crazy singing guys. We stopped by to check out the celebration. When we realized we were going to have to wait forever for the Mayor of New Beford to show up to cut the cake, we bailed. I guess we just didn't care that much.
P.S. Although I loved the whaling museums, I in no way condone the practice of whaling. I think it's super sad and inhumane. Granted, the museum was really cool. The End.

Baby Beluga in the Deep Blue Sea. . .

Saturday Adam and I drove to Mystic, CT to go to the Mystic Aquarium. I love aquariums! I feel like a little kid anytime I go to places like an aquarium or zoo!
Loved the Beluga whale!
Watching the Sea Lion show

Me, riding a sea turtle. I had to wait 20 minutes for my turn.
Stingray pool. I was the master at touching them!
This sea star made my day.
This seal stayed in this position, and circled the drain for like 10 minutes. It was so funny!

Jack-O-Lanterns Galore!

Thursday night Adam and I went with our friends, Chris and Cassie to see the brilliance of 50,000 jack-o-lanterns light up the night sky. Sadly, I don't have an amazing camera, so I couldn't capture all of the magnificence. Also, my camera battery died half-way through, so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked.
