Old News.

It's old news to everyone involved in any type of social media, but I thought I'd put it on my blog just the same.

However, I feel odd putting any kind of mushy-gushy stuff on here. So I'll just go with facts.

Adam and I are having a baby. Due July 21, 2104. If all goes as it should.

Found out November 15. Didn't believe it until I took several pregnancy tests.

Saw my little peanut for the first time on December 16. It looked like an alien. But it was my alien.

Had really bad all day sickness and sciatica on my left side really early on. Weeks 6-12 can suck it. I was not happy feeling person. The holidays and our anniversary sucked as well this year. I had to pass up all delicious foods due to feeling so sick.

Nothing eventful happened for a while...

Finally told most everyone by the middle of January.

Felt the baby kick for the first time on February 13.

Found out we were having a boy on February 25. I cried when I saw his cute face. I'm almost positive he has Adam's cute button nose. Adam still doesn't think it's possible for me to know that.

Started getting chubbier. People who know I'm pregnant can see that I'm showing. The rest of the public who don't know I'm pregnant just think I'm fat and my clothes don't fit.

I have conversations with patients and their family members that go like this.

Patient: "do you have any children?"
Me: "no, but I'm expecting my first in July"
Patient: "I could tell but I didn't want to say anything!"

Why didn't they want to say anything? Because they were afraid to assume I was pregnant and not just chubby. At least they go about it tactfully.

There you have it. Hope you've enjoyed the first 21 weeks of my pregnancy as much as I have.

  1. Ha ha! I love this! You can put mushy stuff on. I do on mine, as we all know. I can't help it. I've decided I'm an emotional writer. But I'm so excited for you! I can't believe you're going to be a mom. Yay!
